Park Renovations Coming Soon

We’re thrilled to share that some exciting upgrades are coming to Washington Market Park in 2025!

Many of you may have noticed that the paved areas are in need of repair, and the lawn is looking a bit bare.

Thanks to full funding from Council Member Christopher Marte, the NYC Parks Department will be upgrading our park’s pathways in 2025. The new, safer asphalt paths will enhance accessibility and improve the overall appearance of the park. 

We’re also looking forward to adding World’s Fair park benches and a new lawn with improved drainage. We decided to hold off on resodding the law this year so everyone could enjoy full park access for longer. 

While sections of the park will be temporarily closed for safety during these renovations, the tennis and basketball courts will remain open. We’ll share the exact schedule once it is available.
